The classic buck template of spirit, citrus, and ginger beer is a cocktail build that has stood the test of time and seen as many variations as the years could throw at it. One that seems to have stuck, other than the iconic Moscow Mule, is the blackberry, lemon, and rye whiskey version often referred to as a “Rocky Mountain Mule”. The berry forward flavor of the cran-blackberry juice was just screaming to find it’s way in to this drink.

2oz Rye
1.5 oz Cran-Blackberry
.25 oz Lemon Juice
3-4 oz Ginger Beer
Add first three ingredients to a highball or collins glass, add tall spear of clear ice, and stir gently.
Top up with ginger beer, give one last stir, and garnish with a fresh blackberry and cranberry on a cocktail pick.
