Growers Club
Cran Raspberry Clover Club with a reference to the cooperative nature of Ocean Spray. When I saw the cran-ras juice on the shelf I immediately thought of this cocktail and knew it was all a matter of dialing in the syrup recipe since I already know just how good a good Clover Club can be. I started the syrup process by reducing cran-ras juice in a 1/4 and in 1/2, then made an un-reduced simple syrup (so 1:1 Sugar to Juice) and added different sugar values to portions of the reduced juices to test how different concentrations and different sugar ratios would affect the flavor of the final syrup and ultimately how much flavor could be coaxed out of it. The next step was to try macerating in fresh cranberries and raspberries to the winning base syrups determined in the previous step and taste them against those without fresh fruit. I was hoping that one of the least reduced and no fresh fruit options was going to turn out just as well as the others, but that unfortunately did not end up being the case.
