Fried Sage Brown Butter Whiskey
• The whiskey blend is 3:1 Bourbon to Rye and you will need 1 oz of butter for every 4 oz of whiskey you plan to wash.
• Heat butter in a pan until is melts, bubbles, reduces a bit and starts smelling nutty.
• Add some fresh sage leaves once the butter has melted and let them fry as it browns.
• Remove crispy fried sage leaves and place on paper towel to dry for later use as garnish.
• Pour brown butter into a large mason jar.
• Add the whiskey mixture to the butter and stir well.
• Continue to stir or shake every so often for a few hours then freeze.
• Once fully frozen, remove solidified butter at the top and filter through a cheesecloth lined mesh strainer and a coffee filter to remove any remaining sediment.
